Second, Let me apologize for the delay in getting this to you. It’s been crazy busy over here in Mafia land.
If you want us to support your move-in day experience, it is CRUCIAL that you read these instructions carefully and entirely.
We need your questionnaire back AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so we can begin to prepare for your move in.
MOVE-IN DAY MAFIA TV SHOW
**IMPORTANT - STUDENTS AT PRAIRIE VIEW, SKIP TO THE GETTING TO KNOW YOU QUESTIONNAIRE**
As I mentioned on your notification call, we are turning our mission into a dorm room makeover TV show! Nothing ratchet or disparaging…just a sweet, heartwarming, feel-good show that highlights your awesome story of overcoming and resilience and the work of Move-In Day Mafia. The last show I did like this in Hollywood, we won an Emmy. Only this time, I don’t have the big backing of the Hollywood machine behind me…yet!
We are super excited because your story, matched with the good that Move-In Day Mafia does, will bring more exposure. More exposure means more donors. And more donors mean more scholars like you, that we can help. So thank you for considering paying it forward.
Therefore, if you want to be featured in one of our episodes, you MUST sign what is called an “Appearance Release” that is required for TV shows. It simply means you are giving Project Dreamlight (the company of Move-In Day Mafia) permission to film you for the TV show.
Watch this video below so I can explain the release to you. It might seem a bit overwhelming because of the legalese! Don't worry. I'll explain what each paragraph means.
Signing the release does NOT mean you are guaranteed to be in the show. My team will work out those details later but we need the release in place.
Remember that you are NOT required to be in the show in order to receive EVERYTHING we have promised to you. YOU are our first priority.
Our only request is your participation in the reveal of your dorm room when it’s finished. We will only record the reveal with our cell phone cameras to use in our marketing and promotions to invite more donors and share on social media.
After you watch the video, look for an email from Adobe Sign so that you can electronically sign it within the next few days.

On your actual move-in day, you will have to be out of your room pretty much all day. So if you arrive to campus before we do, once we are ready to set up your room, you will have to disappear so we can work our magic. 😜
If you agree to be on the show, we will use part of that time to interview you. It’s okay to leave your stuff in the room, but do NOT unpack completely because you will need to pack it back up once we arrive. So I suggest you only unpack what you need to use until we get there.
