However, having grown up in the #HBCU Culture, TeeJ Mercer the founder of Move-In Day Mafia loves and rocks hard for ALL HBCUs, even that "other" HU, Hampton University.
Created out of necessity because America was not keen on educating its Black population, spaces needed to be created for us...
AND BOY DID WE THRIVE!
HBCUs have created graduates who have literally produced A Different World for the world. Get it...A Different World...The first TV show about HBCU life.
SEE! We are already educating you!
But seriously, HBCUs produce 80% of Black Doctors, 40% of Black Engineers, and 50% of Black Teachers, just to name a few.
With that said, #HBCUHistoryMakers pays tribute not only to those ancestors who have trailblazed their way into history but also those "hidden figures" who are currently using their blowtorch to pave new trails.
